Families Value Williams

Why invest in a Williams education for your child?

The adolescent years can be the most influential. It is important for children, during this particular time of their lives, to be curious and inspired to achieve their best. Surrounded by engaging teachers and students who value our safe and inclusive learning environment, students discover their individual learning styles, skills, and possibilities. Whether in the classroom, on stage, competing athletically, or serving others, every student finds their passion, purpose, and potential at Williams.

2023-2024

Need-Based Tuition Assistance Grants

Funding is available to families that qualify based on a financial needs assessment by School and Student Services (SSS) and The Williams School Tuition Assistance Committee. Need-based grants are awarded at the time of admission and providing the student remains in comparable academic and citizenship standing and the family’s annual financial need assessment remains comparable to the initial assessment, the grant will be offered each year the student re-enrolls at Williams.

Please be aware that our need-based grants, while helpful, do not fund a student’s entire education at Williams, regardless of need. We work closely with families identified as “full-need” by SSS on various ways to afford a Williams education; however, we do not offer Tuition Assistance grants that cover the entire tuition.

SCC Merit Award Grants

SCC Merit Award Grants are available to newly accepted students who have demonstrated the highest level of achievement in Williams’ Core Values of Scholarship, Character, and Community prior to attending Williams as well as the promise of continued achievement at Williams.

Students do not apply for SCC merit award grants. Recipients are determined by Williams’ Admissions and Tuition Grant Committees upon a comprehensive review of each student’s candidacy.

Merit award grants are offered to qualified students at the time of admission. Providing the recipient continues to demonstrate the highest levels of achievement in Williams’ Core Values of Scholarship, Character, and Community while enrolled at Williams, the SCC Merit Award will be offered each year the student re-enrolls at Williams.

Applying for Need-Based Tuition Assistance

For directions on applying for aid and submitting your tax forms through SSS, please reference: School and Student Services — Applying for financial aid at our school for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Based on the financial information that you provide, SSS provides Williams with an estimated amount that your family can contribute to educational expenses. This helps us make fair and objective tuition assistance decisions. The Williams School SSS Code is 8222. If divorced or separated, the non-custodial parent must also submit a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) as well as the appropriate tax forms by the same deadlines.

Williams uses School and Student Services (SSS) to process need- based tuition assistance applications and your most up-to-date tax forms. SSS is a service approved by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

For families provided with need-based tuition assistance, a complete copy of your most up-to-date Federal Tax Return must be submitted to Williams’ Business Office prior to your student attending school.

Notification of Need-Based Tuition Assistance Grants

Notification of Need-Based Tuition Assistance Grants for new students who have all documents submitted to SSS by the appropriate deadlines will be communicated by the Admissions Office with the enrollment contract. Please note that new students must apply for admission and be accepted before an award can be offered.

Current students will receive notification of Need-Based Tuition Assistance Grants with annual re-enrollment contracts. Current students must apply for tuition assistance each year by January 1st.

Tuition Assistance Grants are considered final once a signed Enrollment Contract and Tuition Assistance Grant Agreement are received by the School.
